Meet Of the Day: 2008 Aviva London Grand Prix

I have posted a schedule and list of the key athletes who will be competing at the 2008 Aviva London Grand Prix, which is classified as an IAAF Super Grand Prix event. Even though Tyson Gay is a scratch, it’s still chockful of many of the Beijing medal favorites, including Blanka Vlasic, Yelena Isinbayeva, Jenn Stuczynski, Asafa Powell, Allyson Felix, Reese Hoffa, Adam Nelson, Christian Cantwell, Bernard Lagat, Craig Mottram, Dayron Robles, the list goes on and on.

The Startlists for the 2008 DN Galan Super Grand Prix are available here. You can read a preview of the meet here. With names like Usain Bolt (left), Asafa Powell, Jeremy Wariner, Dayron Robles, Blanca Vlasic, Yelena Isinbayeva, Jenn Stuczynski, Abubaker Kaki, Yuriy Borzakovskiy and Meseret Defar, it’s bound to produce some serious fireworks. Since this is a Swedish meet, also look for local faves Christian Olsson, Stefan Holm, Carolina Klüft and Susanna Kallur. Also on tap is the Big Shot, a special exhibition of the shot put from a specially-constructed shot put ring in he heart of downtown Stockholm.
